Product description

Just as skillfully as with the existing PALUA set, which consists of two oak boards reminiscent of etagères, studiomeiid uses simple, geometric shapes for the new ZEN boards, giving the objects a clear and functional expression.
ZEN can be used on both sides and thus combines the function of a tray and bread cutting board in one: when cutting bread and rolls, the crumbs are caught in the grooves. Once turned, the tray has a slightly raised edge, which underlines its function as an elegant serving tray.

Designer: David Meier

About

German designer David Meier (born 1990) is the driving force behind studiomeiid, which he founded in 2019. With a solid foundation in technical model making, as well as a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Industrial Design, he is known for his uncompromising aesthetic vision and for products that effortlessly merge a high degree of functionality with a strong visual direction. As a charming add-on, the young designer has never been afraid of the playful and humorous, taking it as a compliment if a product of him also puts a smile on your face. The Palua tray was the first product by David Meier for blomus.

Care Instruction:

Care of solid, untreated oak: If the product is to be used with food we highly recommend treating the wood with oil. This protects the wood from discolouring and ensures that food odours and bacteria do not stick to the wood surface. We recommend sunflower oil for this purpose. The serving trays can be rinsed with warm water. However it is not recommended to soak them in water as this may lead to cracks in the wood.
